When I think of how far I’ve come on this journey, I wonder how much further I’d be if I’d hired a coach to help me create a path to follow.
The sad truth is that I didn’t. And it’s been absolutely hard to get this far. Not that I’m not super grateful to be here. I am. I’m grateful for every moment that I have in this life! Personally, I love to help my clients piece apart any pitfalls or expenditures that could be saved for a later time. By knowing what services/products works or don’t work, you’ll know what’s worth your time and money.

This one is super important!
While I don’t believe it takes money to make money, once you have it, investing in your business the right way will deliver a return on your investment. You’ll get back so much more than what you put in when you invest in your business. It’s the way of the world.
Knowing what to invest in can be hard, but working with a seasoned entrepreneur can help you avoid some of the pitfalls.
What You Should Look for In a Coach
While there’s no real way to know right off the bat whether or not you and a coach will work well together, you should look for a few things before and during your initial conversation.
Before You Schedule a Call
Do your research into the coach specifically. A good coach generally:
- Has built up their own business from the ground up
- Is transparent about the way they run their business (i.e., posts income reports, goals, and strategies for meeting them).
- Makes plenty of free information available on his or her website
- Makes it easy to reach them to ask questions
- Clearly posts prices and what services they offer
During Your Initial Call
While on your initial call, a coach who has your best interests in mind will:
- A good coach will be mindful of the time you’re paying for. They’ll keep the chit-chat to a minimum to focus in on your hurdles and how best to clear them.
- They’ll run down at least three steps you can take starting immediately to get you ro where you want to be
- Offer accountability by asking about what your current strategies are
- Ask if you have any questions before closing
- Will map out everything you talked about in an email following the call
Following the Call
A few weeks after the call, a good coach will check in to see if you’re holding your end of the bargain. He or she will ask you about how you feel about the progress you’ve made and will hold you accountable for any lack of progress.
What Coaching Won’t Do
Coaching can help you build your empire faster than you ever could alone. That said, coaches aren’t fairy godmothers.
Coaches will only set the path. They’ll create a way for you to get to where you want to be. You have to do the walking to get there! That means that you take each of the steps you’ve committed to doing.
For example, if you told your coach you’d send out two pitches per week, you don’t just send out one and kick back on your laurels for the other six days. You get off your butt and send out that second pitch! If you’re really hungry, you’ll send out three, four, then five!
Coaching won’t bring you a direct flood of clients. You have to go out and get your clients. The only surefire way to do that is through regular pitching and following up.
But they’ll give you great tips to help you attract more paying gigs. By doing so, you can make the pitching process easier and more streamlined.
Coaches can’t do the work for you. They aren’t assistants. Working is all up to you. You have to write, create, and build the income you want. Coaches can only teach you the ropes. We show you how to navigate the big bad world of online business easier.
