Huge Coaching Giveaway!!

Huge Coaching Giveaway - The Freelance Dance

So far, I’ve been pretty good about keeping the Huge Coaching Giveaway under wraps. But today is the day I get to spill the beans!!

I’m thrilled to be offering coaching services as part of my diversified business portfolio. It’s a feeling I can’t describe. It’s fun raised to the 2nd power – SUPER fun!

I remember exactly where I started. And I would’ve given anything for someone to hold my hand down the dark and twisty unknown path before my feet. I needed it then. But I couldn’t afford it.

In case you’re curious, here’s my story.

How I Got Here

The short version goes like this:

Back in August 2015, while searching around on Facebook for leads – something, anything to grab me by the hand into a real life, one without eviction and disconnection notices and a chance. That’s all I needed was for an Earth-walking angel to rule in my favor just one time.

One of my usual lead mines, Work at Home Adventures, had shared an article on their FB page. It was called 100 Non-phone Jobs. More of a directory of places willing to hire home-based help to run their businesses.

Within the section on writitng jobs was a sub-section which featured the site’s endorsed writing course. It was Gina Horkey’s 30 Days or Less to Freelance Writing Success. Linked within the text of that article was an interview Gina gave called Earning $4K/mo Working from Home as a Freelance Writer.

Intruiged, I did what any of my fellow millennials would, I took it to Google.

My Sweet November: My Pet Project-Turned-Meal-Ticket

October 17. That’s when I bought the course. I read it over once and knew I could do a lot with it, more than take it, more than answer the actions. I wanted to blog my way through it. Either it was really the Heavenly-like absolution I’d prayed for, or I’d fall flat on my face.

And that’s how I blogged my way through the course in the month of November, year of our Lord 2015. But for the rest of my life, it’ll always be My Sweet November.

By going through it and sticking with it, I found this life. Or rather, it found me. On Day 11, I booked my first paying gig.

And I ended my project on the 30th day, with a profit!

I did it while battling stage 4 lymphoma and raising 7 minions! If I did it with a full deck stacked against me, anyone can!

My Start Up Costs

I spent exactly $64 on the upstart. Here’s how I pulled that off:

I didn’t need any new equipment and loved my notebooks a lot back then.

So, there you have it, that’s how I started.

From Then to April 2016

I can’t even compare the two! It’s been rough but also exhilarating. There’s no feeling like this.

My business is bigger than before. I started off writing but now have added virtual assisting and now coaching services. I love growing! But the feeling I get from digging into the work of people who are just starting out and those who’ve been at it awhile but hit a slump is astoundingly rewarding!

The Money Question

I’d ask it, too. I did. Finding out that Gina published her earnings made me like her more. She’s not afraid to spill in the name of building a good business! I’m kind of the same way.

My income reports are there. Take a peek!

To date, I’ve amassed almost $8K!

Where Will I Take This Business?

Sometimes I daydream about what this will look like in a year, two, ten. At a steady speed, maintaining the same momentum I am currently keeping, I’m on track to bring in almost $15K every month, this time next year.

For me, that means I’ll write a few courses. I have two that I’ve started in eBook writing and copywriting, but I want more than that.

I’m a sucker for IT! I can build a website in my sleep given access to the right this’s and that’s. But last night, I migrated three brand new domains over to WP Engine from GoDaddy and built up brand new sites for them. Unbelievable! I’d love to do more of that in the future!

What Coaching Does

Coaching is like parenting. Think about it!

My job as a coach is to identify problem areas in your business you probably aren’t aware of, yet. Then, I suggest easy ways to remove them. You do so, and it all ends on a happy note. You leave me feeling like a charged up battery.

While there are courses out there on everything from attitude adjustments to etiquette, sometimes you need a second pair of eyes to watch your back and help you get around hurdles.

While I’m pleased about my life’s direction, there are days I think about where I’d be if I’d had a hand to hold down the journey. For all I know, I’d be at the $15K/month level already. We can never know.

But what’s certain is that haveing a path tailored to who you are and where you want to be is key. 90% of it is guts. Oh, yeah! You have t want it – even when you’re pitching 20-something people each day with zero replies. Those were the moments I needed a coach.

What You’ll Win in This Giveaway

In 10 days, one lucky winner will close out the day with a coach on their team. And I can’t wait! It’ll be great to help someone and watch it all happen in real time! Case study? Maybe. I’ve thought about it. Perspective is everything, isn’t it?
